Pai Gow is a poker game that pits the player vs. the croupier, unlike almost all other poker games that players wager against other players. By wagering against the dealer, beginning players do not need to worry about any other, more advanced individuals taking their money.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is assigned 7 cards face up and the croupier is given 7 cards faces hidden.
A five card hand and one two card hand need to be made from the 7 cards, the five card hand must be better than the two card hand. To win, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be higher than the houses.
