Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the normal 52-card standard deck and one joker. The player is dealt seven cards face up and the house gets 7 cards face down.
One 5 card hand and a two card hand need to be made from the 7 cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be stronger than the two card hand. To succeed, a player needs both of his hand totals to be better than the dealer’s.
