Pai Gow is played with 53 cards; the familiar 52-card standard deck and one joker. The gambler is dealt 7 cards face up and the casino gets seven cards faces hidden.
One five card hand and one 2 card hand have to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the 5 card hand must be higher than the 2 card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand totals to be better than the houses.
